During its official visit to the Republic of Serbia, the delegation of the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe visited the Institute “Mihajlo Pupin” on Thursday, January 18, 2024.

The delegation of the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe was led by the Prime Minister and Head of Government, H.E. Dr Patrice Emery Trovoada, accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Community, H.E. Mister Gareth Haddad do Espirito Santo Guadalupe, Plenipotentiary Minister, Director for International Cooperation, Mister Américo Viegas, Lieutenant, ADC of the Prime Minister and Head of Government, Mister Wilker Ney da Vera Cruz Viegas and Assistant to the Prime Minister and Head of Government, Madam Ana Maculada Pinheiro da Cruz Barros.

The delegation was hosted by Dr. Nikola Tomašević, Director General of the Institute, Željko Stojković, Industrial Cooperation Director and Vladimir Simeunović, Director of IMP – Computer Systems.

On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the meeting was attended by H.E. Miloš Perišić, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Republic of Angola.

During the meeting, the delegation of DR Sao Tome and Principe and the representatives of the Institute “Mihajlo Pupin” discussed potential cooperation with the goal of more efficient government administration, especially related to the development of dedicated information systems primarily for e-government. One topic of the meeting was potential cooperation in the fields of energy efficiency and communication systems, as well as the possibility of engineers exchange for high level knowledge transfer and closer cooperation.
