From September 26 till 28th 2023, the Institute “Mihajlo Pupin”
had an honor to host the International SINERGY Conference on Smart and Innovative eNERGY management! The conference was a part of the activities within the European project SINERGY Capacity building in Smart and Innovative eNERGY management (GA No. 952140).
During the three days of the conference we gathered 27 papers, and 68 authors from a large number of countries. The conference presenters raised a number of questions in the field of smart networks, energy efficiency, big data processing, while also discussing the application of different artificial intelligence and machine learning approaches for big data analysis, combined with a number of other relevant topics.
On Tuesday, 26.09.2023, one of the most distinguishing presenters, Professor Dr Stergios Vakalis (University of the Aegean, Greece) held a lecture on “The role of bioenergy on the increased penetration of RES – the green transition of Lesvos island”. Then, a specially organized panel session brought additional dynamics to the conference atmosphere, while on Thursday, September 28, 2023. Professor Dr. Maria-Esther Vidal (TIB, Germany), held an extremely interesting lecture on “Knowledge Graphs in the Energy Sector: Challenges to Enhance Transparency and Trustability in Energy Data Ecosystems”.
We would like to thank all the authors, presenters and all the colleagues who joined the lectures and the panel session, took an active part in the discussion and opened up a number of new questions in the conference topic areas.
