Part of the “Modernization of regulation and protection of the turbo-aggregate TA-2” project, was a four-day (from 6th to 9th April, 2015) training for system engineers from Thermal-heating power plant “Novi Sad” which was organized at the premises of the Institute Mihajlo Pupin. Training was organized for the installation, operation and maintenance of the ARS-TSControl system used for control of steam turbines. Complete training was performed on the real-time  HIL simulator ARS-TSSimATLAS, so the trainees had a feeling of controlling a real steam turbine using modern DCS. As a result the system  engineers in TP-HPP “Novi Sad” will be ready to take the active part in performing their duties when the installation and commissioning of the same system is finished on the turbine T-110 / 120-130-4, produced by UTZ.

Upon completion of this project, the Institute “Mihajlo Pupin” (IMP-Automation & Control Systems and IMP-Project Engineering) will gain an important reference in the area of electrical-heating steam turbines control, because the turbine T2 TP-HPP “Novi Sad” is also used for district heating of Novi Sad during the cold winter days. Also, distinctiveness of this project is in the application of linear electric actuators for controlling hydraulic servo-motors, and the development of control algorithms for automatic operation of turbines in regime known as “heating diagram”.
