The 1st International Conference on Space Science and Technologies, held last month in Niš, brought together researchers, engineers, and institutional representatives to strengthen collaboration between science and industry and advance Serbia’s space ecosystem.
For Institute Mihajlo Pupin, the conference was an opportunity to exchange knowledge with leading experts and present our research in space technologies.

As an invited speaker, Ivan Kokić delivered the presentation ‘Space Communications – A Historical Overview and Current Trends’ highlighting the evolution of space communications from the early days of space exploration to today’s advanced systemsAs an invited speaker, Ivan Kokić delivered the presentation ‘Space Communications – A Historical Overview and Current Trends’ highlighting the evolution of space communications from the early days of space exploration to today’s advanced systems. The Institute also presented two papers developed in collaboration with the Astronomical Observatory of Belgrade within the MOSAIC project, focusing on technologies for future CubeSat missions:
-Testing of X-Ray Detection in Turbulent Flow for Space Applications Using Silicon Drift Detector
-Integration of a uCAM III Optical Camera in the MOSAIC CubeSat: Progress and Next Steps

Space technologies are among the fastest-growing fields of engineering, driven by advances in telecommunications, electronics, automation, software engineering, and artificial intelligence. Through its multidisciplinary expertise, Institute Mihajlo Pupin continues to contribute to innovations that extend beyond traditional industries and support the future of space exploration.
