Yesterday marked the official opening of the 68th International Fair of Technics and Technical Achievements, one of the region’s most prominent events dedicated to innovation, technology, and industrial development. More than 600 exhibitors from 31 countries will showcase their latest innovations and technological advancements.
The Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation organized a dedicated exhibition featuring more than 120 innovative exhibits from 80 organizations across Serbia.
The fair was officially opened by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr. Đuro Macut, in the presence of Academician Bela Balint, Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation, as well as representatives of ministries, institutions, and companies participating in the event.
As one of the key drivers of innovation in information technology, the Mihajlo Pupin Institute is once again participating in the fair. This year, the Institute is presenting five exhibits to domestic and international visitors.
“We view the Mihajlo Pupin Institute’s long-standing participation in the Fair of Technics as an opportunity to remind ourselves that science creates the greatest value when it becomes part of the systems that drive society forward. With more than 500 employees, the majority of whom are researchers, we develop our own hardware and software solutions in the fields of public administration, energy, defence, security, telecommunications, transportation, and robotics. We are particularly proud that 90% of our revenue is generated directly from the market, demonstrating that domestic knowledge and innovation can successfully address the most complex challenges of modern society. The value and quality of our work are further confirmed by our participation in 122 European projects and cooperation with more than 700 international partners, through which the Institute exchanges knowledge, follows global technological trends, and develops innovations in line with the highest international standards,” said Nikola Tomašević, PhD, Director of the Mihajlo Pupin Institute.
The Institute’s exhibits range from measuring transducers used in large generators and transformers, a modular vehicle geolocation device, and an LVDT module, to the Railway Dispatching Central System, as well as advanced solutions that combine artificial intelligence, robotics, and green energy technologies for smart agriculture applications. AGROAI project is financially supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The Fair of Technics will run until 22 May. Engineers involved in the development of the exhibited solutions will be available at the Institute’s stand in Hall 2C, where they will provide visitors with additional information and insights into the showcased innovations.
