The Mihajlo Pupin Institute will host the 18th Annual DEMSEE Congress (Deregulated Electricity Market Issues in South-Eastern Europe), which will take place on 22–23 June 2026 in Belgrade, Serbia.
The Congress will bring together experts, researchers, representatives of power utilities, transmission system operators, and members of the academic community to exchange knowledge and experience on key challenges and emerging trends in the development of modern power systems and electricity markets.
The program includes keynote lectures, scientific paper presentations, a presentation of the STUNNED project, a visit to the Mihajlo Pupin Institute, and expert discussions focused on the development and operation of power systems in the context of the energy transition.
The keynote session will feature the following topics:
- Digital Twins Designed for Real-World Engineering Applications, with the participation of Neara;
- Artificial Intelligence Applications in Power Systems, presented by Prof. Mileta Žarković, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade;
- Frequency Regulation in the Serbian Power System, presented by Nikola Obradović from Elektromreža Srbije (EMS).
The DEMSEE Congress serves as an important platform for knowledge exchange, the presentation of new research results, and the strengthening of cooperation among academia, industry, and power system operators across the region.
Participation in the Congress is free of charge; however, registration is mandatory due to the limited number of seats available.
