A team from the Mihajlo Pupin Institute visited several locations across Serbia to thoroughly assess the operational challenges of roadside weather stations. These stations use hybrid power systems, combining grid supply (230V/50Hz) with solar and battery sources.

In the coming period, IMP-Automatika, in cooperation with the Public Enterprise “Roads of Serbia”, will be responsible for the maintenance and upgrade of these stations to ensure reliable operation—crucial for road traffic safety.

The primary function of these stations is to measure visibility, traffic flow, temperature, air pressure, humidity, and precipitation. All collected data is transmitted via GPS modem to a central control center for real-time monitoring of road and weather conditions, ultimately aiming to enhance the safety of road users throughout Serbia.
