At the beginning of June, the Fifth Regional CIGRE Conference for Southeast Europe (CIGRE South East European Regional Council, SEERC 2025) was held in Sarajevo. The main focus of the conference was the future of the region’s power sector. More than 400 participants attended the event, including representatives of power utility companies, scientific and research institutions, academia, and international organizations. Key topics discussed included decarbonization, digitalization, power system resilience, and energy market development.
The technical program was structured around four key thematic areas and one special session, with 137 selected papers authored by experts from 23 countries.
Researchers from the Mihajlo Pupin Institute participated as authors and co-authors of the papers titled “NEW GENERATION CONTROL SYSTEM FOR MIXED HOLDING POWER UTILITY OF REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA DISPATCHING CENTER,” within the topic Functionality of Power Systems and Equipment (authors: Goran JAKUPOVIĆ, Milan JOSIFOVIĆ, Nikola JEMUOVIĆ, Nikola JELIĆ, Pavle LUČIĆ, Simo BOŠNJAK), and “Automatic over-frequency control scheme implementation,” under the topic Challenges of Resilience in Power Systems (authors: Srđan Subotić, Nemanja Vukojičić, Milan Josifović). The latter paper presented a solution developed within the Horizon Europe R2D2 project.
As part of the conference, company presentations and exhibitions were held, featuring firms engaged in the design, construction, testing, commissioning, and manufacturing of energy equipment.
