On 15th and 16th of January, 2025, the University of Cyprus (UCY-KIOS), in the capacity of Coordinator, hosted the first meeting of the EUSOME project (Enabling Autonomous Aerial Systems through Operational Methods and Technological Enhancements, 2025-2028). Our colleagues, dr. Valentina Janev and dr. Slavica Bostjančič Rakas presented the Institute Mihajlo Pupin (PUPIN) and the PUPIN solutions available as commercial products and services, see the “Special Purpose Simulators and Training aids” program.

The EUSOME project is a four-year project funded by the HORIZON-WIDERA-2023 program. The role of the Institute in the EUSOME project is to enable a knowledge transfer in the domain of U-space Regulation from the EU partners to Serbian stakeholders, thus contributing to the transformation of Research & Innovation in Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) in the Western Balkan Area. U-space Regulation is a package approved by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Committee in February 2021, as the first regulation in Europe for safely operating unmanned aircraft systems (‘UAS’) alongside manned aircraft.
