On World Education Day, which celebrates personal and professional growth, we proudly introduce Jovan Jovanov, a scholarship recipient of the “Mihajlo Pupin” Institute. Jovan, a first-year student at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. He enrolled as the top student, thanks to the prestigious Vuk’s diploma, an award given to students in Serbia who achieve the highest academic results throughout their schooling, and excellent results on the math entrance exam.

The importance of education was emphasized by Mihajlo Pupin himself, who was sent off into the world from his small village of Idvor by his mother with the words, “Knowledge is the light that illuminates our path through life.”

“Even in high school, the Institute supported me and other kids from Idvor through scholarships, and I am truly grateful for that. Now that I’m facing the costs of student life, I’m even more thankful. The scholarship also motivates me to keep studying hard and maintain my grades,” says Jovan.

While he’s not overly focused on future plans, Jovan hopes to complete an internship during his studies and later pursue a master’s degree. “Considering the great reputation of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (ETF), I believe that if I study hard and excel as a student, I won’t have to worry much about finding a job. Student days are truly special because they open many doors and forge lifelong friendships. Like with everything, you need to find balance—in this case, between studying and socializing—and so far, I think I’m doing well at maintaining it,” Jovan notes.

Since its founding, the Institute has set standards in technological development thanks to educated individuals, and we continue to take pride in our team of top engineers and experts, many of whom were our scholarship recipients before joining us.
