The director of the “Mihajlo Pupin” Institute, Dr. Nikola Tomašević, hosted a delegation from the Research Institute of Chongqing and the Research Institute of Harbin. During the meeting, Dr. Tomašević presented the portfolio of the “Mihajlo Pupin” Institute, including its key research, scientific, and commercial projects, to the high-ranking officials of the institutes and representatives of prominent Chinese companies.
Dr. Valentina Janev discussed the Institute’s role in European projects and research in artificial intelligence, while Prof. Dr. Aleksandar Rodić introduced research in robotics, smart agriculture, and Industry 4.0. The meeting also sparked new ideas for collaboration and joint efforts between Chinese and Serbian scientists.
Representatives of the visiting delegation showcased their institutions and ongoing projects, demonstrating a keen interest in various areas. Current research focuses on using artificial intelligence in agriculture, smart factories, energy, and drones.
“Visits like this are crucial for establishing cooperation between the two countries. Joint participation in research projects and potential student exchanges open up new opportunities for deepening cooperation and further developing scientific and educational resources. Through such initiatives, the ‘Mihajlo Pupin’ Institute contributes to strengthening international ties and enhancing research capacities, which is a key step toward scientific advancement,” said Dr. Janev, who had the opportunity to visit China in May of last year.
Following the working part of the meeting, a special part of the visit included a tour of the Institute’s development and research laboratories.
