It’s not UEFA Euro 2024, but it’s the best domestic IT football!

We are proud of our colleagues from the “Mihajlo Pupin” Institute because they won the IT Cup of Serbia last weekend in Novi Sad. The team consisting of Nemanja Nešić, Stefan Đurov, Bratislav Planić, Uroš Ilić, Mladen Ilić, Đorđe Rađenović, Veljko Ivanović, Damir Dedović, and Ivan Milošević, is delighted with their on-field achievements as well as how they represented our company, the IT league, and Belgrade.

“Feelings are currently mixed because none of us are yet aware of the success we achieved in just a few months. It all started with gathering the team, sacrificing one weekend day, and culminating in winning the IT league in Belgrade. Now we have repeated that success and even elevated it by winning the IT Cup of Serbia as the ‘youngest’ team alongside teams from Niš and Novi Sad, where the IT league has existed for seven years. I am very proud of all the guys who have shown character many times as a team, and this achievement becomes even more significant when we look back and realize that we accomplished all this in our debut season, and we have built wonderful personal relationships with our colleagues,” says Ivan Milošević.

However, we might contradict ourselves regarding the EURO mentioned at the beginning of the text, considering that by winning the IT Cup, our guys qualified for the Euro Business Cup 2024, which will be held in Antalya from October 12th to 16th. Preparations for the mini-football competition, in which 48 teams from 15 European countries will compete, will start after a well-deserved break and rest with their families, who played a significant role in this victory by providing them with maximum support.

Individually, the award for the best goalkeeper of the tournament went to Nemanja Nešić from the Automation department, who not only made excellent saves in the final match but also recorded an assist and scored a goal himself. Captain Ivan Milošević from the Department of Telecommunications received the award for the top scorer with eight goals, including two in the final.

The IT Cup of Serbia is a humanitarian event, and the money raised is intended for the treatment of little Neda Ranđelović, who suffers from cerebral palsy.
