On the occasion of the Armistice Day in the First World War, the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić awarded decorations to deserving individuals and institutions that stood out during the fight against the infectious disease Covid-19, as well as to individuals who risked their lives to save others.

Our associates Vladimir Nesic, head of the Department of Hardware Development, and Ognjen Ristic, associate in the same Department of the Mihajlo Pupin Institute, had the honor of receiving the Gold Decoration for Merit for the development and production of the first domestic respirator.

The two of them, together with a team of associates, managed to produce a device for mechanical ventilation of the lungs according to the state-of-the-art specifications in a month and adapted it for pandemic conditions. During 2021, the medical certification of this device should be completed, and mass production would follow a year later.
