The Order of the Star of Italy – CAVAGLIERE DELL’ORDINE DELLA STELLA D’ITALIA – is a recognition given by the President of the Republic of Italy to persons from the world of science, arts and culture for outstanding merits in strengthening friendship and cooperation between Italy and other countries and in promoting ties with Italy.
Prof. Sanja Vraneš, Ph.D. was awarded the title of the Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy for her personal merits in strengthening friendship and cooperation between Italy and Serbia in the field of science and applied technologies.Thus she was given the recognition for her commitment to strengthening cooperation between Italian and Serbian scientific institutes, universities, associations and companies. The result of this cooperation is more than 40 projects realized by the “Mihajlo Pupin” Institute with Italian partners. Prof. Vraneš is also the Vice President of the Association of Italian and Serbian Scientists and Researchers (AIS3), which has 400 members and an excellent connoisseur of Italian language and culture.
