NiDays08 Worldwide Graphical System Design Conference was held in Belgrade, at the hotel “M”, October 21, 2008. IMP-Telecommunications Ltd., a company operating under Mihailo Pupin Institute, has participated in this event by presenting the high-end automated test system developed for testing STOS 3XGA devices.
STOS 3XGA device is the video display device that receives graphical data via Ethernet, processes it and distributes it to three VESA video outputs. Both the STOS 3XGA device and the automated test system are developed entirely by IMP-Telecommunications Ltd. Besides presenting the complete automated test system at the stand, a special presentation during the workshop was held
The automated test system is based on NI PXI devices (Embedded Controller Module and various NI PXI measurement and acquisition Modules) and NI LabVIEW software. The tests provided include resistance checks, voltage measurements, frequency measurements, communication check, signal acquisition, firmware download etc. All tests are performed on the device PCB, so special Test Bed module was also developed in order to provide connection between the device under test and the measuring equipment.
The whole test procedure lasts only 5-6 minutes and is completely automated.
Presented automated test system provides fast, accurate and reliable testing of STOS 3XGA device hardware. At the end of the conference, it was evaluated as the preeminent automated test solution in the whole South-East Europe region. Therefore, it will be presented on the NI web site and in the NI journals.
