upravljanje-procesima-u-vodoprivredi-1542920Water management presented another great challenge for Institute’s researchers, with a major focus to the drinking water supply management, control of water transportation pipelines (from the source to the consumers), control of open channel irrigation systems, and control of river transportation locks. We can proudly say that our experts have mastered these issues successfully – therefore, a number of municipal water dispatch centers have been equipped with Institute’s remote supervision and control equipment, with fully implemented water supply automation in water plants, pumping stations and reservoirs.

The successful project realizations have been based on proven hardware and software solutions from the standard Institute’s research programs: SCADA VIEW software packages and hardware equipment of ATLAS family (RTU stations and PLC devices).

  • In the water management arena, Institute also completed several challenging projects abroad:
  • In Iraq, the irrigation control system in an area of 26.000 ha, which included the Control Center and 47 RTUs with radio data transfer link.
  • SCADA system for water management in the city Algeria (cca 4 million inhabitants) that includes the Control Center and 10 RTUs.
  • SCADA system for control of the irrigation system “Streževo” in Bitola Valley in the FYR Macedonia, covering 60 km long channels and more than 20.000 ha of land, and consisting of the Control Center and 12 RTUs.
  • Supervision and control of facilities for waste water treatment in Lipeck in Russia.
  • SCADA system for control of Sulana dam and irrigation system Cira-Piura in Peru, with two PLC units in the Control Center, and measuring and control equipment for field-control of dams, electric power supply facilities, transformer stations, etc.

One of the latest references in this domain is the project: Arilje’s Water Plants, which includes the system for water supply and waste water treatment in Arilje, the city in West Serbia. It supplies with drinking water more than 400.000 residents (including residents of a few neighboring cities in Central Serbia). This “turn-key” system was designed, delivered and successfully put in operation. The Control Center contains a cluster of 6 computers connected in LAN, with 10 remote RTUs and radio network for data transfer.
