As part of the project “Sustainable Energy for Climate-Resilient Municipal Development in Armenia (SE4Resilience)”, a delegation from Armenia visited the Mihajlo Pupin Institute last week.
The delegation included representatives from the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, the Public Services Regulatory Commission, the Renewable Resources and Energy Efficiency Fund, the Electric Power System Operator, the Electricity Market Operator, and the Scientific Research Institute of Energy of Armenia. Their visit focused on exploring how digital tools can enhance the efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of energy systems.

Serbia has made significant progress in aligning its energy sector with European legislation and in implementing digital solutions for improved system management and market integration. As a center for the development of innovative technical solutions, the Mihajlo Pupin Institute is regularly included in the agendas of international delegations. The guests were welcomed by Aleksandar Car, Deputy Director of IMP-Automatika; Nebojša Radmilović, Head of the Department for Complex Systems Regulation; Head of the EMS Systems Department, and engineers Željko Damljanović, and Nina Grujić.

During the visit, the delegation was introduced to the history and development of the Institute, as well as its ongoing projects in the fields of energy, digitalization, and sustainable development. Particular interest was shown in the Institute’s renewable energy solutions. As part of the tour, the delegation visited the solar power plant installed on the Institute’s rooftop and explored the technical facilities in the Blue Warehouse and garage, where they gained practical insights into modeling and software tools applied in real-world distribution systems.

This visit marks an important step toward strengthening cooperation between Serbia and Armenia in the areas of energy, innovation, and scientific research and developmen
