Under the slogan “Technology in Your Hands,” the 67th International Fair of Technology and Technical Achievements, the oldest and most prestigious techno-technological event in this part of Europe, was ceremonially opened yesterday. The Republic of Serbia’s pavilion, titled “Play for Humanity! Science for All – Innovations Change the World!” features 64 individual exhibits and 33 exhibitors, including government institutions, research institutes, universities, innovation centers, science and technology parks, astronomical observatories, and more.

The fair was opened by the Minister of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation, Academician Bela Balint, who emphasized that the event is a hub for ideas that will transform the world. He highlighted that this exhibition is not merely a showcase of cutting-edge technical achievements—it is an invitation for all of us to join the global innovation revolution. “For Serbia, this fair is pivotal as it strengthens our position as a regional leader in technological development and attracts investments that drive economic growth and job creation. Events like this build bridges between science and industry, empowering young talents and innovators to contribute to our country’s prosperity,” Balint stated.

The Mihajlo Pupin Institute, a key driver of innovation in information technology, is once again participating in the fair. This year, it is presenting four exhibits to domestic and international visitors.

“With the expertise of our 500 employees, including over 300 engineers and scientists, the ‘Mihajlo Pupin’ Institute has been developing innovative hardware and software solutions for decades. We are active in various domains, from public administration, energy, defense, security, and telecommunications to traffic management and robotics. Our focus is on commercializing our work, which has led to over 90% of our revenue coming directly from the market, ensuring our products and services benefit Serbian citizens. At this year’s fair, we are showcasing a dispatch center, an AI-based system for recognizing and classifying CT and X-ray images developed in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade, a modular GPS system, and a solution for secure data control and exchange between isolated networks,” said Nikola Tomasevic, PhD, Director of the Institute.

The International Fair of Technology and Technical Achievements runs until Friday, May 23. Engineers from the Institute who developed the exhibits will be present at the booth in Hall 2C to share additional insights about these innovative solutions with visitors.
