The end of September was marked by beautiful weather and sports events organized by Serbia’s Union of Employees in Scientific Research Activities, better known as the Workers’ Sports Games. Representatives from five institutes gathered in the picturesque setting of Banja Vrućica from September 26 to 30, where, in addition to competing in various sports disciplines, they had the opportunity to socialize and enjoy the stunning natural surroundings.

The team from the Mihajlo Pupin Institute competed in several disciplines such as volleyball, futsal, running, bowling, table tennis, badminton, darts, chess, and dancing.

“Results were not as important to us as the camaraderie and the team spirit we have been nurturing for years. We were the most successful in volleyball, winning gold medals in both the women’s and mixed categories. Additionally, Nikola Antić won a gold medal in the 100-meter race, and our colleague Radmila Ristić took home a gold medal in dancing,” said one of the participants Dragoslav Mijić.

The games emphasized the importance of physical activity, and besides the chance to compete with colleagues from other institutes, they also served to strengthen connections among colleagues and create unforgettable memories.

“We had a great time. The accommodation and food were excellent, and the nature of this region is unreal, perfect for walks and relaxation. We met many new colleagues from other institutes, exchanged contacts, and I believe we will collaborate in the future,” said Dr. Slavica Bostjančič Rakas, a research associate at the Mihajlo Pupin Institute.

Congratulations to all the colleagues on their participation and awards!
