On Friday, the Institute Mihajlo Pupin welcomed a high-level state delegation from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, led by the Minister of Infrastructure and Public Works, John Banza Lunda.
The delegation also included Georges Koshi Gimeya, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Works, members of the National Parliament, Nico Nzau Nzau, Director General of the Congolese Agency for Major Works, Victor Ntumba Tshikela, Director General of the Office of Roads and Drainage, along with their associates.
The delegation was received by Nikola Tomašević, PhD, Director General of the Institute Mihajlo Pupin, Marko Batić, PhD, Assistant Director for International Cooperation and Technology Transfer, Željko Stojković, Assistant Director for Finance and Industrial Cooperation, and Danilo Batinić, Head of the Toll Collection and Traffic Management Department.
Following a presentation of the Institute’s current projects and key achievements, the visit continued with a tour of its research and development facilities. The delegation visited the toll collection testing environment, the Railway Programme test site, as well as the Institute’s workshops and warehouse facilities.
The visit concluded at the Vrcin Toll Plaza, the largest toll station in Serbia, where the delegation had the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the toll collection and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) solutions developed by the Institute Mihajlo Pupin.
The visit reaffirmed the shared commitment of both sides to further strengthening cooperation on infrastructure projects of strategic national importance in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
