Last week, the Astronomical Observatory Belgrade hosted a presentation of the Artemis program, focused on space exploration. The event was organized with the support of the U.S. Embassy and brought together representatives of the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation, scientific institutions, and researchers. Participants had the opportunity to gain insights from experts of the U.S. Department of State and NASA into the Artemis Accords – a global framework for civil space exploration that today brings together more than 60 countries worldwide.
The delegation of the Ministry and domestic research institutes was led by the Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation, Academician Bela Balint, who emphasized the importance of the Accords and highlighted the potential for Serbia’s accession, with a strong focus on strengthening international cooperation.
The Institute Mihajlo Pupin was represented at the event by our colleague Ivan Kokic, who collaborates with the Astronomical Observatory Belgrade on the MOZAIK project. Participation in initiatives of this kind reaffirms the Institute’s commitment to advancing inter-institutional and international cooperation in the field of contemporary scientific and space research.
