To mark a major milestone-20 years since the team won its first gold medal at a world competition in power electronics-the H-Bridges team hosted a commemorative event at the Palace of Science. In the presence of representatives of the academic community, the acting Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering, professors, students, and industry partners, the team presented its results from the IEEE IFEC 2025 competition, where H-Bridges achieved an impressive fourth place.
The program also included a brief retrospective of the team’s two-decade journey, as well as a presentation of their current project – a bidirectional charger for electric vehicles. This year’s design targets applications in renewable energy systems and EV charging infrastructure, as well as all solutions requiring high efficiency, compact design, and reliable energy transfer in both directions.
As a long-standing partner of this prestigious student organization, the Mihajlo Pupin Institute was pleased to take part and support a team that continues to uphold a tradition of excellence. Representing the Institute, Milan Bjedov, Head of the Department for Hydropower System Control and a graduate electrical engineer, addressed the audience.
Milan congratulated the students on their remarkable achievement and emphasized the importance of continuously investing in young engineering talent. He highlighted IMP’s strong commitment to cooperation between academia and industry, inviting students to visit the Institute, apply for internships, and present their innovative ideas.
