At the Cultural Center in Knjaževac, a roundtable titled “Green Solutions in Practice” brought together more than 50 participants – representatives of local governments, experts, rural tourism households, entrepreneurs, and citizens.
The event, organized by RARIS – Regional Development Agency of Eastern Serbia, focused on promoting renewable energy sources (RES) and energy efficiency (EE), offering a platform to exchange experiences and discuss practical solutions for sustainable development.

In the best practice session, Ilija Stevanovic, MSc.ME from the Institute Mihajlo Pupin showcased innovative solutions, including:
– Digital Field – an advanced, autonomous, and highly automated system for remote crop production management and monitoring, powered exclusively by solar and wind energy. Installed in Belegiš, it optimizes the use of land, water, and energy to maximize yields under local climate conditions.

– A digital solar dryer was deployed at the agricultural chemistry school in Grabovac, near Obrenovac,
– Application of RES at the EXIT music festival,
– Concept projects such as anti-frost systems for orchards and an innovative water resource management system.

These solutions demonstrate how digital technologies and renewable energy can empower rural communities and the tourism sector, paving the way for a more sustainable future.
