The Mihajlo Pupin Institute was once again represented at the prestigious international DEMSEE Congress, held on June 23–24, 2025 in Heraklion, Crete.
Our researcher Igor Bundalo participated in the program in a dual capacity:
- As moderator of the expert panel addressing key challenges facing power system control centers in the coming decade, and
- As author and presenter of the paper Remedial Action Automation
The panel featured contributions from distinguished speakers Marta Gačić (Security Coordination Centre SCC Ltd, Belgrade) and Dr. Manos Belivanis (Central Control Center, Cretan Transmission Grid). Discussions focused on advancing digital tools, improving interoperability, and emphasizing the importance of regional coordination for secure and efficient system operation.
The presented paper is the result of several years of research and development within the Horizon Europe R2D2 project, with a focus on the software implementation of remedial action automation in SCADA/EMS systems. Particular emphasis was placed on integration with Dispatcher Power Flow applications and Contingency Analysis. The paper was written in collaboration with colleagues Petar Petrović, Nikola Savić, Nemanja Vukojičić, and Simona Radonjić Petronijević from Elektromreža Srbije a.d. (Joint Stock Company Elektromreža Srbije) and Goran Jakupović and Marko Batić from the Mihajlo Pupin Institute.
