At the CIGRE 2025 Conference held on Kopaonik in late May, a large number of companies, experts, and representatives from the academic community gathered to discuss the future of the power sector. This year’s focus was on emerging technologies and the challenges of the energy transition.
The Mihajlo Pupin Institute was well represented, underscoring our strong commitment to innovation in the field of power engineering.
Out of a total of 174 papers presented, our colleagues authored or co-authored 12, covering key topics ranging from islander microgrid operation and corrective automation to SCADA system enhancements and cyber security of renewable energy infrastructure.
Aleksandar Car, Deputy Director of IMP-Automatika, and Goran Jakupović actively participated as expert reporters for Study Committees D2 and C2. Additionally, Goran contributed to two expert panel discussions:
- R2D2 – Reliability, Resilience and Defense Technology for the Grid
- Energy Transition and Future Control Centers of the Power System
