The Mihajlo Pupin Institute took part in the CIGRE 2025 Symposium, held at Kopaonik from May 26 to 30. As one of the most important professional events in the field of power engineering in the region, this year’s symposium focused on energy transition, with discussions also addressing the development and operation of power systems under changing conditions.
Over five days, representatives from power utilities, academia, and professional associations had the opportunity to exchange knowledge, engage in expert discussions, and present their latest achievements through papers and panel sessions. A total of 174 papers was presented.

The energy sector is undergoing major changes, and it’s a privilege to be among those shaping the future of energy management. Globally, we’re moving toward renewable energy sources to ease the burden on overloaded electrical capacities. This event provided an excellent platform for open dialogue, idea exchange, and showcasing innovations in our field“, said Aleksandar Car, Deputy Director of IMP-Automatika and member of the CIGRE Study Committee.
Alongside the conference, a technical exhibition showcased modern products and services in the energy sector, enabling the creation of new business connections.
