The humanitarian memorial “Marathon of Peace”, organized by the Athletic Club Plemenito Srce, was held from March 24 to 26 and dedicated to commemoratе the suffering of the Serbian people throughout history. Members of the club ran a marathon from Belgrade to Cer in honor of the homeland’s heroes. In such a humanitarian endeavor, every marathon runner is a winner.

For many years, the Mihajlo Pupin Institute has supported Plemenito Srce’s work through donations, contributing to the preservation of memory and the values that unite us. This year, the Institute joined the marathon not only as a supporter but also through the participation of our colleague, Sonja Kuljanski Marić. Sonja ran the section from the Saint Sava Temple to the Stefan Nemanja Monument.

“It was truly an honor to take part, even symbolically, in such a humanitarian event. The sense of unity and purpose that this marathon carries is unlike any ordinary marathon, and I would love to see more of my colleagues join next year,” said Sonja, who also voluntarily donated blood the day after participating in the event.

Through socially responsible business practices, the Mihajlo Pupin Institute strives to support initiatives that promote humanity, remembrance, and solidarity. In the future, we will continue to support similar actions that strengthen the community by fostering compassion and noble causes.
