sarajevo1-1067387Toll collection system on the motorway A1, on the Josanica – Kakanj section in Bosnia and Hercegovina, was officially put in operation today. This, the most advanced and sophisticated system in the region, was implemented by the experts from the Mihajlo Pupin Institute. Two toll collection systems were open: manual, which automatically issues magnetic card to the user at the entrance, on the basis of which the distance passed and toll collection amount are calculated at the exit; and electronic ACC service, which enables users, by using TAG, to pass the section without stopping, whereby toll collection is being automatically calculated and deducted from the credit paid. Also, for the first time in Bosnia and Hercegovina, toll collection can be paid using bank cards.

sarajevo2-7276564The investor, Public Company of Motorways Federation of B&H Ltd. Mostar, points out that the implementation of this toll collection system will contribute to the faster, easier, safer and better use of motorways. Low TAG prices are offered during the promotional period, to stimulate users to start using benefits of the electronic toll collection.

After Montenegro and DR Congo, this is the third system that Institute implemented abroad. This reaffirms the quality and technological modernity of the systems developed in the Institute Mihajlo Pupin. As Mr Vladan Batanovic, manager of the Institute said at the official opening of the system, unified toll collection system opens the door to new opportunities for interoperability of ETC, which means users could use the same TAG in all regional motorways.
