Launch of the Webinar Series for Developing the Roadmap to Gender Equality in STE(A)M Education, Research & Innovation

As part of the STREAM IT project, from September 2025 to May 2026, a series of international webinars will be organized to discuss key policies and practices in STE(A)M education, research, and innovation.

In order to make a significant step forward towards advancing gender equality, these webinars will serve as a platform for developing a strategic document – the Roadmap for Gender-Inclusive STE(A)M Education and Careers. The Roadmap aims to provide recommendations and guidelines for the further development and improvement of public policies and practices in these areas. The entire process will culminate in a final conference, bringing together key stakeholders from across Europe to discuss the next steps in implementing the Roadmap.

The organization of the international webinars involves the following STREAM IT project partners: HÉTFA Research Institute, Steinbeis Europa Zentrum, RAPIV, Universitatea Babeş-Bolyai, Institut Mihajlo Pupin, Foundation for Management and Industrial Research, EIT Food-Poland, Wonderfund AB i  STEM Ísland.

• Webinar 1 (September 23, 2025): European Manifesto for Gender-Inclusive STE(A)M Education and Careers. This session will connect with four STE(A)M-related projects to discuss and reflect on which principles or activities should be included in the Manifesto, also including a reflection on the Union of Skills and the STEM Strategic Plan.
• Webinar 2 (October 8, 2025): The State of Gender Equality in STE(A)M in Europe. We will review key findings from the She Figures 2024 report, the results of the STREAM IT research, and insights from other EU-funded projects to explore their implications for policy and practice.
• Webinar 3 (November 6, 2025): Institutional Change in Higher Education & Research. This webinar will showcase and discuss best practices that foster STE(A)M education and careers. Representatives from projects like Girls Go Circular, ESTEAM Fests, and WiTEC EU will share their experiences and offer suggestions for future policymaking.
• Webinar 4 (February 2026): STE(A)M Education & Gender Perspectives. This session will address gender gaps in higher education, secondary education, and schools, with a focus on promoting diversity in STE(A)M fields.
• Webinar 5 (March 2026): STE(A)M, Entrepreneurship & Innovation. We will explore ways to strengthen gender inclusivity in higher education, research, innovation, and business, with a specific focus on female entrepreneurs.
• Webinar 6 (May 2026): Towards Gender-Inclusive STE(A)M Education and Careers: A Policy Dialogue. This final webinar will engage a broad group of stakeholders to assess and refine the recommendations collected during the previous sessions.
