Driving Innovation and Sustainability: Mihajlo Pupin Institute’s Workshops on Green Transition and Project Evaluation
At the end of 2024, the Mihajlo Pupin Institute organized two significant workshops as part of the POLICY ANSWERS project, implemented under the Horizon Europe program. These events focused on current and strategically important topics: the application of circular economy and green transition in business, as well as capacity building for the evaluation of science and technology projects.
Workshop: “Optimize Your Business and Save Through Circular Economy and Green Transition”
The workshop on circular economy and green transition was held on November 19, 2024, in Valjevo, in collaboration with the Regional Chamber of Commerce for the Kolubara and Mačva Administrative Districts. The goal of this workshop was to identify business models that enable sustainable operations and improve energy efficiency by raising awareness among businesses about the necessity of adopting new technologies.
Participants engaged in interactive discussions to explore concrete steps toward a green transformation, which presents numerous challenges but also opportunities to enhance competitiveness and market placement of products and services domestically and internationally. The workshop was attended by 29 participants, including companies recognized as leaders in sustainable business practices in the region.
Workshop: “Capacity Building for the Evaluation of Science and Technology Projects”
The second workshop, dedicated to capacity building for the evaluation and monitoring of science and technology projects, was held on December 5, 2024, at the Mihajlo Pupin Institute premises in Belgrade. This event provided an opportunity for participants – representatives of research organizations, higher education institutions, the public sector, and industry – to learn about best practices in drafting, evaluating, and implementing European projects.
Through practical examples and interactive exercises, participants received guidance on how to enhance their skills in preparing competitive project proposals and successfully implementing them, thereby contributing to strengthening Serbia’s scientific and technological base. The workshop was attended by individuals involved in project management from universities and ministries, as well as potential project applicants.
Both workshops highlighted the importance of these topics for the further development of sustainable business, innovation, and collaboration between science, industry, and the public sector. The Mihajlo Pupin Institute continues its activities under the POLICY ANSWERS project, committed to improving the capacities and knowledge of all stakeholders in the fields of digital and green transition and European projects.
