The Institute “Mihailo Pupin” from Belgrade, University in Banjaluka and University of East Sarajevo establish the joint institute in the IT field. This institute will also bear the name of a great man of our science Mihailo Pupin, and the central office of the institute will be at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Banjaluka. Cooperation of two institutes that bear the same name will be focused on the fields of science, research, education and other fields of common interest through mutual exchange and initiation of joint activities based on equal partnership. This is the first case that the institute from Belgrade takes part in establishing an institute outside borders of Serbia.

On Tueday, the 5th of April, the Agreement on scientific-technical and business-technical cooperation was signed by Vladan Batanović, Ph.D,El.Eng., General Manager of the Institute „Mihailo Pupin“, Prof.dr. Stanko Stanić, Rector of University of Banjaluka and Prof.dr. Mitar Novaković, Rector of University of East Sarajevo. Dr. Žarko Obradović, minister of education of the Republic of Serbia and his colleague from Republika Srpska, Prof.dr. Jasmin Komić, signed this document as well as a sign of support to this project.

When a new institute officially „opens its doors“, at the beginning of June this year, experts which graduated from universities in Republika Srpska, especially from Faculties of Electrical Engineering, will be welcome as a cadre in the institute. Joint participation in international projects, exchange of experts, providing scholarships for top students, inviting guest lecturers from the Institute from Belgrade to come to the faculties in Republika Srpska are only some of activities and ways for knowledge sharing which have been planned.

Establishment of the institute in Banjaluka will be beneficial for sharing science-research and technological experiences, faster transfer of knowledge into industry with the aim of its development and for creation of commercial products necessary for the market.
