Institute „Mihailo Pupin“ was awarded European Union grant for implementation of the project „Building the Serbian Electromagnetic Compatibility quality infrastructure – EMC Serbia“. The project implementation contract with the EU Delegation to Serbia was signed on February 18th, 2011. Total project cost is 1,011,783 EUR, while the amount financed by the European Union is 908,679 EUR. Project duration will be 20 months. IMP’s partners on this project are ICT Net industry cluster, University of Belgrade’s School of Electrical Engineering, and Regional Center for Development of SMEs and Entrepreneurship „Belgrade“. The project was awarded under the Regional Socio-Economic Development Programme 2 (RSEDP2) Grant Scheme.

The goal of the „EMC Serbia“ project is to establish a capacity for EMC conformance product testing in Serbia. Realization of this goal will improve ICT industry in Serbia, reduce unemployment and improve the competitiveness of other industry sectors. The final result of the project will be establishment and accreditation of EMC Test Facility, which will significantly reduce Serbian industry’s EMC testing expenditures, facilitate the export due to harmonization with EU standards and reduce the need of doing EMC testing in other countries.
