On the 17th and 18th of September 2009 in the Hotel Continental, Belgrade, Serbia, Institute Mihajlo Pupin organized, together with the TEIC of Greece, 4th International Regional Conference devoted to Deregulated Electricity Market Issues in South-Eastern Europe (DEMSEE 2009). The Conferenced was welcommed by the representatives of Public Electricity industry of Serbia (Dr. Aca Marković), Serbian Trasmission SMO (Dr. Miloš Milanković), Regulatory Agency (Mr. Ljubo Maćić) and IMP (Dr. Sanja Vraneš).

During the two days 43 papers, presented by authors from 15 countries (from SEE and rest of Europe/USA), were discussed within four half-day technical sessions, dealing with Energy Policy, Regulatory Issues, Power System Planning, Markets, Operation Planning, Power system Operation, Control, Protection, Renewables, Distributed Generation and Electric Distribution.

The Conference was attended by more than 80 participants. The authors from the Institute presented tree papers (mr.Goran Jakupović, mr.Jelena Car, N.Čukalevski, mr.S.Krstonijević, I.Bundalo). The Conference was co chaired by Dr. Ninel Cukalevski (IMP) and prof. Thales Papazoglou (TEIC).
